As a Sourcing/Product Manager, you will lead the coordination efforts of a global and domestic sourcing blueprint to balance the diverse needs of private brand home categories.  You will serve as the in-house expert to negotiate value and profitability, leveraging buying power with a focused supplier network, and ensuring speed to market delivery through a targeted time and action calendar.  

Because product development efforts are currently handled by cross-functional teams, you will also be instrumental in liaising communications with suppliers, design teams, import production teams, merchant teams and key stakeholders to drive the highest quality product according to specification, delivery, and costing expectations.

EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • Develops and executes cross functionally aligned global and domestic sourcing strategies for assigned product categories. 
  • Understands global market conditions which impact the supply chain such as tariffs, social compliance issues, freight challenges, international labor costs, and raw material costs.
  • Drives negotiations and owns supplier relationships to command best costs incorporating fabrics, CMT, freight, duty, and testing. 
  • Travels to market globally and serves as a company ambassador to deliver win-win solutions and establish long-term business growth opportunities.
  • Manages the entire lifecycle of product development in partnership with design and tech teams, while liaising with suppliers and internal customers to ensure key milestones are achieved for flawless execution.
  • Performs full range of approvals, from PP (Pre-Production) to TOP (Top of Production), encompassing lab dips, bulks, strike-offs, trims, labeling, and packaging.
  • Ensures on-time delivery, meeting consumer demand to expedite purchased goods.  Uses agile methods to navigate revisions of purchase orders, analyze effects of cancelations, and propose strategy offsets for rejected or delayed goods.
  • Closely partners with internal departments to ensure proper classification of richly diverse products, in accordance with the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
  • Enforces standards with suppliers to comply with our code of ethics in support of human rights and labor laws.  This includes protection against child labor, forced labor, prison labor, human trafficking, and other health & safety related concerns.  

KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum 2 to 5yrs experience. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Advanced principles with global supply chain acumen. Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strategic thinker with superb organizational and problem-solving skills.
