DMM - Off Price
Responsible for developing and executing a profitable merchandising strategy for assigned divisions in concert with the overall strategy for the brand. Co-ordinates the buying and assortment process from initial concept to timely store delivery.



·        Extensive interaction with the President, Chief Merchandise Officer, Category GMM, VP of Planning and Allocation, VP of Marketing Divisional Planning Managers, Divisional Buying teams, Product Development, Distribution teams, and Store teams

·        Frequent interaction with merchandise vendors

·        Interaction with other individuals within the organization



·        Partner with GMM to establish a strategy for the division and create a course of action to capitalize in both the short and long term

·        Partners with buyers and planning teams in order to ensure strategy is executed within Brand initiatives

·        Partner with VP of Planning to develop seasonal plans that buyers will use to guide them financially. Adjust plans as needed

·        Work with buyers to develop product assortments that maximize trends, while targeting the value conscious customer

·        Coach buyers in artfully negotiating with vendors in order to procure timely, profitable, opportunistic buys

·        In season, work with buyers to analyze and react to current business trends, utilizing open to buy reports, weekly sales and allocation reports, and item/class reports as well as various other analytical tools

·        Develop strategies and contingency plans for product optimization and reorders

·        Work with buyers to develop merchandise exit strategies when sales performance is  below forecast

·        Recruit, hire, coach and develop high performing buying teams. Focus not only on developing business acumen, but also core competencies

·        Visits stores weekly with divisional team in order to ensure consistent, customer centric execution of divisional strategies

·        Ensure execution of Divisional goals by interacting frequently and meaningfully with Stores, Marketing, and Planning and Allocation

·        Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned



·        Directly recruits, hires, coaches and develops Buyers. Responsible to ensure that buyers are  providing proper guidance to assistant buyers and merchandise technicians



·        4 year bachelor’s degree  is required

·        Two to Three years DMM experience in an Off Price Business model.

·        In depth experience leading buying teams is required

·        Frequent market travel experience, including non-domestic, is required

·        Must possess excellent written and verbal skills

·        Fluent in English

·        Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Suite, to include Outlook and Excel, are necessary
